About the Role
This role involves serving as a functional Subject Matter Expert during the requirements definition phase of projects or feature iterations. The Business Analyst uses their domain knowledge, research, and best practices to understand and represent the requirements, needs, and interests of business stakeholders to the Digital team.
You will work with the technical and digital team to translate business requirements into clear user stories or detailed functional specification documents, ensuring the solution meets the agreed business requirements at every stage.
Additionally, the Business Analyst plays a crucial role in iteration management support, acting as the glue that holds the team together. They facilitate the smooth running and continuous improvement of the team on a daily basis, ensuring the team follows what they have agreed and committed to do to deliver the outcomes needed on time. This includes helping to remove impediments and clear dependencies, keeping the team focused and aligned on priorities day-to-day.
What you’ll be doing
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for business processes, current systems, and support the development of a strategic roadmap.
- Lead requirements gathering by facilitating workshops and analyse requirements to establish clear stories or functional specifications.
- Seek and gain stakeholder sign-off once the business requirements have been defined.
- Assist with researching new product features/initiatives and drafting problem statements and goals pre-inception.
- Assess vendor product capability (through an RFI or RFP process).
- Partner with the development team to ensure requirements and functionality are being met and proactively identify gaps and issues.
- Work with the technical team to test and validate delivery of development objects.
- Assist with business acceptance testing and deployment planning.
- Manage daily, weekly, monthly project activities such as weekly team meetings.
- Assist the Product Manager to facilitate efficient flow of tasks through the delivery lifecycle, organise and facilitate required meetings, record metrics on project and/or feature progress, raise risks, issues and dependencies to the team and stakeholders, and promote sustainable pace.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 3 years experience in ecommerce or related digital environment - ideally both B2B and B2C.
- SAP hybris/commerce experience required.
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) – highly regarded.
- Experience solving business problems with technology / software.
- Eliciting and documenting business requirements / writing user stories with acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
- Track-record in gaining the confidence of business stakeholders, building productive working relationships with technical team members.
- An understanding of software design, development and testing practices.
- Experienced in Agile principles and practices (eg – Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, Lean start-up).
