What can you gain from completing a traineeship through Work & Training?
- You would be employed by Work & Training – the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in Tasmania, and hosted for the duration of your traineeship.
- You would receive professional guidance from your immediate supervisors, as well as mentoring and support from a Work & Training field officer.
- The theory side of your qualification would be conducted one-on-one in the workplace, with expert tuition, by registered trainers from TasTAFE.
On completion of your traineeship you would receive a nationally recognised Certificate III in Dental Assisting – HLT35021.
What would this involve?
- Work Monday to Friday in the Dental Practice.
- Train to assist dentists and hygienists’ chair-side.
- Gain an understanding of the instruments & dental equipment used.
- Train in sterilisation techniques for equipment.
- Learn all about infection control.
- Oral pathology and physiology is covered.
- There will be the opportunity to assist with oral surgery.
- Obtain a good understanding of the administrative aspect of Dental Assisting.
- Trainers come to the workplace to teach and assess.
Wage:
- National Training Wage applies.
