About the team

At Wesfarmers, the Group Accounting, Risk and Assurance team has a strong commercial focus and is responsible for both internal and external reporting of the Group’s financial performance and audit requirements, as well as delivering value through Group procurement initiatives. We work with a variety of stakeholders across the Wesfarmers Group to deliver commercial insights and analysis that drives decision making and improves business performance.

What you’ll do

Reporting to our Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in optimising the commercial value of select GNFR procurement categories where the Corporate Office plays a direct role as well as leveraging a network of procurement professionals across the Wesfarmers Group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the strategy for focusing Group procurement efforts and delivery of selected areas of procurement focus
  • Delivering competitive tender processes end to end, including direct engagement and negotiation with counterparties
  • Reviewing current GNFR contracts across the Group and identifying opportunities to increase value and obtain savings
  • Collaborating with procurement teams within our businesses to share knowledge and experience
  • Utilising technology tools to obtain, analyse, and display data insights, and effectively articulate advice that informs the strategy and execution of Group-level procurement opportunities

What you’ll need

  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering enterprise level GNFR contracts
  • Experience in sea freight shipping, travel, energy and technology GNFR categories is advantageous
  • Experience working with various stakeholders and balancing requirements to drive outcomes
  • Experience in providing meaningful analysis to support decision making
  • A naturally inquisitive and analytical mind, and strong ability to problem solve
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including an ability to positively influence key stakeholders
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics simply
  • Outstanding level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise and meet agreed deadlines
  • Tertiary qualification in a Commerce, IT or related discipline
