About the team

At Wesfarmers, our Group Risk team is responsible for developing risk and compliance management frameworks which are operationalised across all our businesses. The team also fosters collaboration and coordination to ensure we remain aligned with best practice and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to our Group General Manager – Risk and Compliance, this newly created role will: 

  • Support the execution and ongoing enhancement of our compliance framework across the Wesfarmers Group
  • Assist in the preparation of strategic briefings and updates for our Board and executive leaders 
  • Conduct research to stay ahead of regulatory changes, industry trends and compliance best practices
  • Work closely with key stakeholders within our businesses to provide practical guidance and support on compliance matters
  • Collaborate with in-house legal team to review compliance failures and recommend targeted remediation actions
  • Provide compliance support to Wesfarmers OneDigital, helping to embed risk-aware decision making
  • Develop and implement data-driven dashboards and reporting to provide meaningful and actionable insights to senior leaders

What you’ll need

  • At least 8 years’ compliance management experience within a large, complex organisation
  • Deep understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business processes and controls
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting as it relates to compliance metrics and controls
  • A naturally inquisitive and analytical mind, and strong ability to problem solve
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including an ability to positively influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment with a mindset to ‘find a way’
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet agreed deadlines
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline

Nice to have’s

  • Previous experience using or implementing GRC systems
  • Experience in identifying and predicting emerging risks using data analytics
