About the team

The Group Treasury team acts as the in-house “banker” to our businesses, supporting them with daily banking and liquidity; management of foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity risk; and working capital efficiency.

In addition, the team is responsible for corporate balance sheet management, particularly in relation to long-term funding, dividend policy, capital management; maintaining strong relationships with the Group’s funding providers and rating agencies; and ensuring financial risk management objectives are met. The team also supports the Wesfarmers’ Group acquisition and divestment activities.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to our Assistant Treasurer, this role will:

  • Support our Group Treasury team across its various functions, in particular, providing ongoing modelling and analytics support
  • Establish strong and effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports
  • Work closely with our Assistant Treasurer – Group Banking and Liquidity to prepare the annual budget
  • Manage the Group Treasury intranet site

What you’ll need

  • Tertiary qualification in a Commerce or related discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Great personal awareness and strong collaboration and influencing abilities
  • The ability to write clearly and speak articulately
  • Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding initiative and determination to persist through challenges
  • A genuine desire for continuous learning including how to manage a balance sheet and financial markets
  • A curious mindset!

Nice to have’s

  • Previous work experience in a similar role or within the banking industry (e.g. telling, foreign exchange or trade credit)
  • Hands-on experience in financial analysis and reporting
