The opportunity

The Supervisor – Operations Control Centre (OCC) plays a pivotal role in the minute-by-minute management and performance of our live transport network, through a team of Network Controllers. The position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and support to the Network Controllers, ensuring their daily activities are proactive and deliver our network KPIs (such as reliability and on time running).

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of Network Controllers, ensuring clear direction and support is provided.
  • Monitor team performance against operational KPIs, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Oversee the coordination of our network activities from service departure to successful achievement of key network KPIs
  • Work closely with Manager – OCC to develop and implement network management strategies that proactively address areas of concern on the network, minimising impact to customers, drivers and KPIs.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for Network Controllers during incidents and emergencies.
  • Facilitate effective communication between Network Controllers, depot staff, and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to network management and incident resolution

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position in operations supervision of procedures with experience coordinating teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills, including evidence of ability to manage a team of direct reports and confidently make critical decisions.
  • Communication skills: Excellent customer service skills and ability to give clear and concise instructions / communications to diverse team in person and wider via radio / phone communication.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated enthusiastic approach to day-to-day operations and positive approach to a continual changing work environment.
  • Expert analytical skills and high level of initiative to operate autonomously with demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement.
  • Strong computer, communications and operations systems literacy – Microsoft Office, Business intelligence software, vehicle tracking software and internal systems.
  • Minimum medium rigid driver’s licence and relevant authority plus working with children check, or willing to attain – to support with driving or events in appropriate circumstances.
