About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Depot Manager to oversee all depot operations, ensuring buses depart safely and on time while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and performance. This leadership role involves managing depot staff, optimising operational efficiency, and driving a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all depot activities to ensure smooth operations and contractual KPI achievement
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering, and absence management to ensure service reliability
- Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and workplace standards
- Manage incidents, investigations, and disciplinary matters effectively
- Monitor and improve depot financial performance, identifying efficiency opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ensure high fleet presentation and operational readiness
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering engagement and continuous improvement
About You:
- Experience in transport, logistics, or depot operations management
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and workforce planning
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations
- Ability to manage industrial relations and engage with unions effectively
- Strong financial acumen and ability to optimise operational budgets
- Knowledge of safety, compliance, and risk management in a depot environment
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and business intelligence software
- Medium rigid driver’s licence and working with children check (or willingness to obtain)
