The opportunity
Kinetic has entered an exciting chapter in 2022 which sees us operate one third of Melbourne’s entire bus network. As our team continues to grow, we are seeking a Driver Manager that is passionate about improving performance and building strong relationships with our frontline staff at our Doncaster depot.
Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will have direct accountability for a pool of Bus Drivers and ensure they are performing at an optimum level at all times. Encouraging a customer centric culture through leadership and regular engagement is crucial in this role as we strive to continually provide safe and reliable services for our valued customers.
You'll be involved in
- Aligning your team to business values and objectives through leadership
- Developing employee capabilities through coaching and training
- Allocating resources as part of rostering to meet operational requirements
- Supporting the investigation of incidents, accidents, and customer complaints to determine cause
- Providing support to frontline employees during incidents and emergencies
- Adopting a continuous improvement approach to all business processes
- Conducting performance improvement meetings and attending to disciplinary matters
- Driving buses in service when required
The boxes you'll tick

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, Management or equivalent highly desirable
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment leading large teams
- Knowledge of bus route services and the overall Melbourne transport network
- Strong computer literacy, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High level of initiative and ability to exercise sound judgement in making quick decisions
- Hold or have the ability to obtain a heavy vehicle drivers licence (MR or above), CPVV Driver Accreditation, and Working With Children Check
