The opportunity:

Kinetic Fleet Services (KFS) is on the lookout for talented Light Vehicle Mechanics that are keen to complete a heavy vehicle upskill program and become qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at our Devonport depot.

From general maintenance and repair tasks through to major engine/component rebuilds, you’ll get a great variety of meaningful work during the upskill program which keeps every day exciting and helps you develop your heavy vehicle expertise across several makes and models. Successful candidates will come on board as a Trade Assistant and signed up to a 12-month trade course designed to compliment your prior learning. The best part is all the modules are completed on the job, meaning you will be paid along the entire upskill journey.

The boxes you'll tick:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • Practical experience in providing maintenance and repairs to light vehicles
  • Basic knowledge of heavy vehicle maintenance and repairs preferred but not required
  • Minimum MR licence - HR licence or above preferred but not required
  • Strong computer literacy, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to diagnostics via computer-controlled systems is advantageous
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
