The opportunity
The Head of Procurement is a brand-new role, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, and responsible for establishing and maintaining Kinetic Australia's procurement function. This includes parts sourcing capabilities, process establishment and improvement, broader supply chain management, drive consistency in process and improve value for money,
What you'll be doing
- Lead the development and implementation of Kinetic's procurement strategy for bus parts, consumables and fuel across Australia and New Zealand.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for other required services such as security, facilities maintenance activities and travel, supporting Kinetic’s First Nations and Social spend obligations.
- Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risk, securing continuity of supply across your extended supply chain.
- Contribute to Kinetic’s global procurement strategy by working collaboratively with all other Kinetic procurement teams and departments. Future strategy will address Kinetic’s changing fleet landscape and continued replacement of legacy diesel fleet with ZEBs.
- Review supplier performance, ensuring compliance with Modern Slavery obligations, and report back to the broader business as required ensuring they meet required quality control standards and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Contribute to tender activity as required and relevant.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors to ensure best outcomes for Kinetic business.
- Engage continuously with other department leaders to ensure future procurement needs are identified and a strategy developed.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor of Business in Management or related discipline is preferred
- Previous experience in procurement within the automotive industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to negotiate rates and supply terms and conditions.
- Strong numerical analytical skills
