We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSEQ Manager to lead the delivery of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) initiatives aligned with Kinetic’s People Plan. Based in Mackay, this role partners with senior leaders to implement sustainable and safe practices across Resources and Urban operations, while leading a small team of HSEQ professionals. Regular fortnightly travel to various sites is required. This position offers an opportunity to drive meaningful change and ensure compliance with legislative and organisational standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

As the HSEQ Manager, you will partner with the Executive General Manager and senior leaders to drive the health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) aspects of Kinetic’s strategic People Plan. Leading a small team of HSEQ professionals, you will ensure contemporary, sustainable, and safe practices across our Resources and Urban operations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the broader People and Safety team, particularly the HSEQ Centre of Excellence, to deliver Kinetic’s People Plan within your region.
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice to the Executive General Manager on complex or escalated safety and environmental matters, including leading investigations where required.
  • Support Kinetic’s safety culture and strategy, leading the integration of health, safety, and wellbeing change management while ensuring compliance with all legislative obligations.
  • Lead your team to provide expert advice, safety leadership, and guidance in the field.
  • Report on trends and outcomes regularly, developing and implementing recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure Kinetic’s compliance with workplace regulations and alignment with relevant international standards.

About You

  • A degree in Occupational Health, Safety, and Wellbeing or a related discipline, or substantial relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge and practical expertise in audits, inspections, risk assessments, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Experience in implementing HSEQ policies and practices that align with organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tech-savvy, with advanced MS Office skills and proficiency in internal systems.
