The opportunity

Kinetic are currently seeking an HSEQ Advisor to support our Central Queensland team. Based in Mackay with travel to the Bowen Basin every other week, and reporting to our Manager HSEQ (Central Queensland), this role will provide essential support in implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) programs and initiatives. Working collaboratively with the HSEQ team and operational staff, the Advisor will assist in promoting a safe and healthy work environment while contributing to the achievement of Kinetic's HSEQ goals and objectives.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the HSEQ Manager in enhancing health, safety, environment, and quality management plans, strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular on-site assessments across locations to ensure HSEQ best practices are followed.
  • Provide HSEQ training, toolbox talks, and promote a positive safety culture among staff.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, assist in developing solutions, and work with teams to implement them.
  • Monitor and report on HSEQ metrics and assist in communications with regulatory agencies and senior management.
  • Promote adherence to Kinetics' HSEQ Management Systems and risk controls.
  • Assist in the incident and risk management processes, including timely reporting, investigation, corrective action closure, and knowledge sharing across the group.
  • Support the local Continuous Improvement Committee in monitoring and reporting on HSEQ performance within the business unit.
  • Assist in preparing for and supporting third-party audits and certifications.
  • Work with the Learning and Development team to create and deliver safety-related training workshops.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Cert IV in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of applicable WHS legislation.
  • Be highly articulate with strong communication skills.
  • Strong integrity with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and agile environment.
  • Strong numerical analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated enthusiastic approach to day-to-day business operations and positive approach to a continual changing work environment.
  •  Strong computer literacy, MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
