About the role:

We currently have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson based in Narrogin, Katanning, Lake Grace, Kulin, or surrounding areas.

In this position you will assist with the monitoring, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants by providing mechanical solutions to repairs and mechanical faults in relation to our water and wastewater related assets.

We are seeking an individual who takes ownership of their work area and is able to work effectively independently but also contributes to a positive team environment and safety culture.

What you’ll do:

You’ll be responsible for the provision of mechanical services including scheduled and unscheduled installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of Water Corporation’s assets.

 

Main Duties will involve:

Performing scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance in water/wastewater systems and installs electrical and instrumentation components.

Performing complex isolation and shutdowns.

Conducting maintenance tasks and problem solving which requires application of knowledge of complex water treatment and chemical dosing systems.

Complex problem solving of water systems, wastewater systems and chemical dosing systems.

Participation on an active stand by roster.

 

Key skills and experience:

We are seeking a mechanical trade qualified candidate, ideally possessing strong experience in pumping and chlorination systems. Your dedication to Occupational Health and Safety including hazard identification and well-developed communication skills are essential for this position along with the following:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitter/Machinist/Turner)
  • Experience with chemical systems.
  • Pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Pressure regulating valves.
  • Ability to participate in standby rosters and be available for travel.
  • Relevant High-Risk Licenses
  • WA ‘MR’ Class Drivers Licence
