About the role
We have a permanent opportunity for a Technical Advisor joining our Asset Management Services team based in Leederville. You will manage the commissioning process to ensure effective and efficient commissioning of new assets and asset enhancement projects by providing advice to internal stakeholders, and contractors engaged in minor or simple works.
What the role will involve
- Ensure the Water Corporation’s Asset Commissioning Guidelines are followed throughout the commissioning of assets and subsequent integration / handover to the Water Corporation’s operational business
- Review and document asset commissioning plans and strategies based on the asset management objectives, operating constraints and design criteria with input from other areas of the business and the contractor
- Review quality documentation and performance tests to produce commissioning reports which record and communicate to internal stakeholders whether new assets have met the needs of the Water Corporation
- Ensure project commissioning risks are effectively managed by the contractor
- Identify and resolve commissioning issues with assistance from peers, and subject matter experts
- Ensure all commissioning tasks including equipment testing, functional and performance testing are completed and that reports are produced and provided to relevant stakeholders
- Monitor commissioned asset performance during the proving period, assess test results and validate asset performance and functionality, and identify failures or need for retesting as required
- Participate in peer reviews of commissioning plans, reports, and estimates and provide feedback
Key skills and experience
You’ll be degree qualified in an engineering discipline or similar discipline and have considerable water related operational and asset management experience OR you will have a Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline. You will have considerable experience in the delivery of capital or operating projects.
Some key areas of focus: Relevant experience related to the commissioning of assets such as planning and progressing work activities, calibrating, configuring and setting up equipment and instrumentation, monitoring equipment performance and planning and reporting.
