About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to provide a project(s) with expert advice and manage the planning and delivery of operational readiness activities, during the detailed design and contract delivery stages. The position will co-ordinate strategies and methodologies to deliver fit for purpose assets seamlessly to operations, whilst maintaining levels of service of the scheme.

The role will integrate teams across the Water Corporation to manage and coordinate the asset transition activities of eleven (11) large scale complex treatment and new water sources project(s). Ensuring successful handover of project and asset deliverables, enabling project sign-off and asset handover to the manager assets, the operator and maintainer.

Advice and support to projects will be done/provided in accordance with the established Corporate guidelines for project management and asset requirements.

What you can expect with this role

  • Establish a plan and mobilise a delivery team made up of key stakeholders across the business, to enable the timely delivery of Asset Handover Checklist (AHC) requirements for complex treatment and new water sources project(s).
  • Build productive relationships with key stakeholders in the Water Corporation and external Design and Construction contractors, to ensure the sustain representation at all stages of project delivery that results in the delivery of operationally ready assets.
  • Support the Assets Integration Team(s) to coordinate activities, to deliver financial and organisational performance outcomes.
  • Participate in the development of Operational readiness strategies and planning to integrate large scale complex treatment and new water sources project(s).

  • Leading by influencing – this position requires strong relationship-based informal leadership for teams across the Water Corporation, both to ensure that specialised activities / expertise are provided in a timely manner, and to ensure that expertise is incorporated by projects in the deliverables

Your skills and experience

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline and substantial experience in a similar role with a large complex water and wastewater projects.
  • Substantial experience in influencing and informing key project handover deliverables and driving Operational Readiness outcomes, of projects.
  • Substantial project related operational and asset management experience in a capital intensive industry
  • Strong knowledge associated with complex treatment and new water sources project(s), with technical proficiency in key deliverables.
  • Capability to collaborate across organisational boundaries to influence and drive large scale project outcomes.
