About the role:

We currently have a Process Operator role available at Subiaco Wastewater Treatment Plant where we treat 63ML of water everyday.

The successful candidate will operate treatment processes, at metropolitan Water Resource & Recovery Facility’s, in a safe and efficient way, within prescribed guidelines, including plant monitoring, investigation, fault reporting, data collection and some laboratory analysis of samples


What the role will involve:

  • Assisting the process controllers in the plant
  • Maintaining housekeeping of the site
  • Preparing assets for maintenance 
  • Complete all operational checks and activities to ensure plant is operating effectively and in a safe manor
  • Take appropriate actions to solve minor breakdown issues in an effective and safe manor and notify Team Leader Operations of any required maintenance activities or break in work
  • Inspect equipment after every maintenance hand over
  • Deliver after hours support (24/7) as per request
  • Provide access to maintenance personal and contractors, clean work area, Isolate, Issue permit as required and De-Isolate
  • Provide feedback on operational performance

Key skills and experience:

  • Safety mindset
  • Eagar to learn
  • Can work well with others
  • Certificate II of National Water Industry Training Package – desirable. (Certificate III highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with one or more water treatment process
  • Sampling experience
  • Demonstrated ability to fault find systems & processes and recommend and apply corrective actions
  • Able to interpret process flow charts and plant schematic diagrams to locate components and isolate faults
  • Understands automated process-control systems and procedures
  • Valid drivers license
