About the role:

As a valued member of our technical training team, you will get to develop, deliver, and conduct assessments against nationally accredited water industry training, covering areas like drinking water and/or wastewater treatment processes, resource recovery, safety, environment, and desalination.

The position is an excellent career progression for anyone with experience as a water operator, and particular with drinking water, resource recovery and/or wastewater treatment process exposure. The role provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to share their wealth of operational experience with our trainee operators, whilst travelling the state to deliver our training services and mixing with our customer base.

We provide the necessary qualification in Certificate IV Training and Assessment if you do not already hold it, plus we develop your skills as a trainer by offering extensive support and coaching from our dedicated training team.

What the role will offer:

  • Be part of a supportive team and contribute to the development of our very exciting and new Shenton Park Training Centre and simulation facilities.
  • Receive ongoing professional development, such as attainting your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment if you do not already hold it.
  • Opportunity to utilise your expert operational knowledge and skill to develop the capability and safety awareness of our operational workforce and new trainees.
  • You get to develop, deliver, and assess nationally recognised water industry courses across a variety of subjects.
  • Develop your own technical capability and presentation skills through ongoing coaching and support from our experienced and passionate technical trainers.
  • Travel the state and get to meet employees from a diverse cross section of the business.
  • Work with internal and external subject matter experts to share knowledge.
  • Develop new ideas, innovate, and leverage exciting new ways to deliver training, such as online platforms and emerging technologies.

Key skills and experience:

The successful candidate will have considerable experience working in a water industry operational role, particular with drinking water, resource recovery and/or wastewater treatment process experience. Have excellent interpersonal, presentation and written skills, and you must be able to travel the state to deliver training and work autonomously, whilst still being an integral team member.
