About the role:
We have a 7 months fixed term opportunity available for a Records and Compliance Lead to join our Information Management Team in our Leederville office. In this role, you will lead the delivery of ‘whole of life’ records and information management practices across all processes for the Corporation, in compliance with corporate regulatory and legislative requirements. You will also advise and support the business in the uptake of information management practices ensuring information needs are managed in alignment with our corporate obligations. This is a lead role where you will be leading a team and supervise the activities of operational staff, setting priorities, ensuring efficient information management operation and monitor service delivery.

Key Skills & experience:
There are a few things that we’ll look for on your CV.
- Tertiary level qualifications in Records Management, Information Management or a related discipline and substantial experience in managing a Records management team within a large organisation.
- Substantial experience in automated Records/Document Management systems. Considerable experience in managing a records team within a large organisation
- Substantial experience in IM application of best practice information/records/document management principles and practices.
- Strong experience in Keyword file classification principles and practices including the use and construction of Keyword Thesauri.
- Proven effective people-management skills, including the ability to manage staff performance and development.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant RM/DM Legislation and Standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of records officers, ensuring task assignments and performance in line with corporate priorities and standards.
- Interpret regulatory and legislative requirements, to develop and maintain the Corporation’s record keeping plan, and currency of corporate policy, standards, procedures and work instructions, for corporate compliance.
- Provide specialist advice, leadership and guidance to our business customers on records and information management practices in adherence to our corporate policy and standards
- Represent the Corporation’s information requirements and contribute into the development of WA State legislative and regulatory requirements with State Records Office of WA and other external stakeholders.
- Lead the development and maintenance of compliance reports, to assess and analyse business conformance with our policies and standards.
- Ensure governance and best practice is applied over policies, standards and processes from the State Records Office WA’s Record Keeping Plan for the Water Corporation and other relevant legislation.
- Lead the development and maintenance of records and information compliance tools such as Organisational Folders Terminology and Disposal Authority mapping “End of Life” retention and disposal” processing
- Identify and implement relevant records and information management process improvements in conjunction with the business, including identifying and acting upon opportunities for additional metadata and other services to support the business.
