What does a Water Operator do?

Imagine working in the beautiful South West, inspecting and maintaining key water assets and infrastructure around our Dams, water supply catchments and water transfer assets.

You’ll work as part of the Civil Dams & Catchment team where as a Water Industry Operator, you’re regularly outdoors, inspecting dams, pipelines, catchments and maintaining water and wastewater services.

As part of the team, your focus will be in ensuring Water Corporation dams and catchments are safe and in optimal condition, maintaining water assets. 

Operating the water supply network and understanding the end-to-end water cycle and how water networks help your local community.    

 

What else will the role involve

  • Participating in safe job planning, team meetings and workplace inspections
  • Ensuring all work is undertaken with safety as the first priority where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety.
  • Operate, maintain, monitor and repair water and wastewater assets, operational sites, and public facilities as required.
  • Participate in overtime and call out rosters as required.

Key skills and experience

  • Western Australian “C” Class and ‘HR’ Class Drivers Licence
  • Experience in civil work and/or water supply and/or wastewater systems.
