An interesting & enabling Project Leader opportunity awaits

As a Project Leader, you’ll manage relationships with stakeholders, consultants, contractors and co-workers across the region’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Reporting to the Project’s Delivery Team Leader, you will lead and participate on capital and non-capital project delivery for our assets and operational works to ensure deliverables are on time, to budget and within standards.

This role is part of a delivery team of approximately seven other project leader and coordinators and is responsible for managing a suite of up to twenty-five minor capital and operational maintenance projects on brownfield sites to be delivered within 12-18 months. The projects may be of various engineering disciplines including Electrical, Civil and Mechanical across Water, Sewage, Drainage, and Irrigation Assets. You will be involved throughout the project delivery phases, including initiation, design, contract documentation, tender, delivery, and commissioning.

Boost your career aspirations

This opportunity is ideal for experienced project managers looking for a diverse portfolio of minor works projects. It could also be suitable for entry level project managers to refine and develop your project management skills or otherwise learn project management processes whilst being exposed to a wide range of engineering and project management disciplines.

Your day may include travel to sites to confirm project scope, delivery requirements or oversight of construction works. Whilst we endeavour to allocate projects within your geographical area, due to resourcing you may have projects which require you to travel to remote country areas. Or otherwise, office-based tasks include preparing project plans, business cases, tender packages and consulting with engineering consultants and stakeholders to confirm project designs.

This role will enable you to use and strengthen your project management, contract management, stakeholder management and communication skills by effectively managing and delivering a program of minor works. Planning, communication, and negotiation skills are key to being successful in this role. The delivery of minor capital and maintenance projects allows our operations team to continue to provide water and wastewater services safely and efficiently to our customers.
