About the role

We are seeking an In Service Assets - Senior Engineer to coordinate and manage programs of asset / system monitoring, investigations, and investments, to deliver on the requirements across the relevant asset portfolio.

The successful candidate to be based in the Canning Vale Regional Office, with the option to work from the John Tonkin Water Centre 1 or 2 days a week, and integrate themselves with local teams and operational challenges. 

This is a permanent full-time role with proposed start date of 6th January 2025.

What you can expect with this role

  • Monitor the capital and operational project deliverables ensuring that projects delivered are fit for purpose.
  • Recommend capital deferral risk mitigation measures and identify methods of funding and implementation.
  • Maintain the asset deficiency process and register.
  • Recommend and develop proactive programs for the monitoring of scheme performance.
  • Evaluate and articulate asset and system risk and operational impact.

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Degree level qualification in an engineering/science discipline, or, extensive water industry experience
  • Substantial experience in managing programs, budgets, contracts, and contractors effectively.
  • Considerable and proven operational experience in effective engineering problem solving and issue resolution.
  • Considerable knowledge and understanding of work practices and systems relevant to asset/ system inspection, monitoring, and investigations.
  • Considerable experience in planning and progressing work activities within general guidelines, using initiative and judgement to deliver outcomes.
  • Relevant operational experience with Water Industry assets and systems desirable.
