Water Corporation is recognised globally for our performance and innovation to secure water supplies for Western Australia in a changing climate. We’re driven to manage water services sustainably to make WA a great place to live and invest. A role at Water Corporation can unlock the door to ongoing long term career development opportunities; we also support training and development, flexible work arrangements, health and lifestyle programs and generous company benefits. If you share our commitment, then consider Water Corporation as the next step in your career.

About the role

As a Regional Manager at Water Corporation, you’ll see how much impact your work has on your community. You’ll feel a huge sense of personal accountability for people’s wellbeing, and you know how much of an integral role you play in ensuring they have access to a safe, fresh water supply. You’ll lead a high-performing operations team of over 110 people who, like you, are dedicated to providing sustainable water and wastewater services in the Mid-West Region extending from Exmouth to Woodridge to Meekatharra.

What the role will involve

You’ll support households, businesses, and farmers with access to safe drinking water and fit-for-purpose water every day. Your community is around you, bringing you closer to the things you enjoy, like improving safety, expanding customer service, and engaging a variety of stakeholders. You’ll partner closely with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) to ensure we are continually meeting and exceeding environmental requirements and community expectations. You take personal ownership, and your work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Then there’s the other side to this story, your team

You’ll ensure your team have everything they need to do their best work. Removing obstacles and supporting them through challenges. Helping them become the best they can be in their roles. Working as part of our high-performing Country Regions Leadership Team, you’ll play a big part in the Corporation’s future and strategy and collaborate with peers across the State to jointly raise the bar on operational excellence. This is a fulfilling role where everything comes together. You have a complete view of what’s happening across the region.

You understand why water is such a vital resource and why you’re an important part of the fabric of this community. Like most jobs, this role has its challenges. Your organisation and planning skills will be continually fine-tuned so that your people and the work they deliver add value. Maintaining assets across WA, your calm manner, and agile thinking will help your team effectively manage issues and respond to customers with a can-do attitude while keeping safety front of mind.

About you

Whether you’ve worked in water, gas or power, your utilities operations background paired with a relevant degree and strong understanding of regulatory requirements and legislation will put you in pole position. Your understanding of how relationships between government, local businesses and customers are shaped will help you hit the ground running. Most importantly, you have a track record for growing and leading strong teams of highly skilled people and a history of implementing and improving a strong safety culture in previous leadership roles.

Apply: If you are interested in the above opportunity, please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.
