About the role:

We have a 12-month maternity leave cover for a Senior Contracts Advisor to join our Principal Contracts team in our Leederville office. In this role, you will create, issue, and evaluate bids and award contracts for the acquisition of capital and operating acquisitions for the Corporation based on contract and Corporation Policies & Standards and value for money principles.

Key Skills & experience:

There are a few things that we’ll look for on your CV.

  • Tertiary level qualification in an engineering, law or business-related discipline and considerable experience and demonstrated capability in procurement and contract establishment and management in and for a large commercially focussed engineering/construction related organisation.
  • Substantial experience and demonstrated capability in procurement and contract establishment and management in and for a large commercially focussed engineering/construction related organisation.
  • Has sound knowledge of the application of contract and commercial law, and best practice contract principles and practices.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of procurement and contract management related legislation, including Acts, Regulations, and industry standards.
  • Exercises the ability to convey understanding of procurement policies and procedures employed by large commercially focussed organisations.
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of and capability in the principles and practices of business communications and stakeholder relationship/ management as it relates to contracts establishment.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in and contribute to the development and implementation of Procurement change initiatives to ensure sustainable and continuing Procurement performance improvement and best practice.
  • Participate in the development, application and maintenance of Procurement Plans and the Corporation’s terms and conditions of contracts so they comply with the Corporation’s business needs, risks mitigation strategies, contract law and industry best practice.
  • Provide contracts planning advice, support and consultancy for Business Cases being developed throughout the Corporation ensuring that Business Cases align to the procurement planning needs of the business.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the Develop Procurements Contracts Process, including:
  • Procurement Planning.
  • Crating and assessing tenders and quotations.
  • Preparing recommendations for acceptance of tenders and obtaining approval of such recommendations.
  • Preparing and issuing letters of acceptance, contracts and working documents.
  • Comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, corporate policy and ethical standards.
