About the role
As a Senior Technical Advisor – Distribution, you will provide technical advice and operational support to ensure water quality processes and objectives are implemented across operations state-wide, while also supporting stakeholder engagement and reporting for water quality performance.

What the role will involve
- Lead technical support to operations to address management, resolution, and prevention of adverse sampling results and scheme performance.
- Provide expert consultation and support to other parts of the organisation, to ensure ongoing compliance with water quality regulatory requirements. This includes providing guidance and expertise on infrastructure projects, responding to technical enquiries, and resolving operational issues.
- Lead the response to drinking water incidents, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure prompt resolution, communication and follow up of resulting actions or tasks.
- Undertake drinking water quality focussed projects and tasks, as required that contribute to the implementation and improvement of the Drinking Water Quality Framework.
- Lead technical input into the enhancement of drinking water quality management and operational reporting systems.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement of Water Quality processes and documentation including preparation for upcoming regulatory changes, participation in collaborative research activities and contribution to other innovative projects
- Support the development of drinking water quality training programs.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other members of the Distribution team.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in drinking water scheme process design, operations, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of water quality management systems.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrates the values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high-performance culture.
Desirable qualities
- Degree in relevant scientific or engineering field.
- Experience with incident management.
- Experience working with water treatment assets.
