About the role 

As a School Education Team lead, you will play a pivotal role in educating and inspiring Western Australian students to be our next generation of sustainability champions, empowering them to make waterwise choices for a positive collective impact on our future.

You’ll lead a small team to deliver Water Corporation’s Waterwise Schools Program in the Perth and Peel region The program is tightly aligned to the WA school curriculum for both primary and secondary schools and our aim is to engage with 50,000 students across WA by 2030.

This is an exciting role which combines managing a team and shaping, leading, and marketing a curriculum aligned PP-12 program. The role also involves assisting with the organisation’s overall water efficiency objectives with schools and community and contributing to Water Corporation’s expansion of the Waterwise Schools Education program to regional WA.

Occasional out of hours/weekend work is required for this role.

What you can expect with this role

  • Lead, manage and coach a high performing team of educators to deliver Water Corporation’s Waterwise Schools Program
  • Lead program design and development ensuring content is aligned to latest WA School curriculum and frameworks.
  • Ensure that the Waterwise Schools Program performance achieves business objectives by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and create content and strategies to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Waterwise Schools Program and incursions to optimise the return on investment.
  • Make data driven decisions to develop and implement marketing, communications strategies and tactical plans to support the Waterwise Schools Program – internally and externally.
  • Represent Water Corporation at school sustainability expo’s, events etc.
  • Contribute to the Partnership and Education Team Community Investment strategy.

Key skills and experience

  • Degree level qualification in an Education related discipline.
  • Considerable experience in an education role managing, leading, developing and recruiting members of a high performing and culturally diverse team
  • Demonstrated substantial project and program management skills, including the ability to implement processes to facilitate monitoring, reporting and successful delivery and objectives in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated skills in the creation of engaging curriculum aligned differentiated resources. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage physical and financial resources
  • Well-developed knowledge and capability relating to education providers, pedagogy and best practice education strategies.
  • Excellent presentation and organisational skills
