Clinical Nurse – Sexual Health
Salary: RN Level 2 $91,171 -$96,742
Commencing: From October 2021
About the Role
The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to encourage client participation in screening, assessment, recall, contact tracing, education and treatment of Syphilis and other STI’s, through community health clinics. The community health program aims to ensure services and education are delivered in a culturally appropriate way to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients with access to marginalised and homeless groups.
In addition, you will promote awareness and education programs within the community, engage with local schools, encourage greater collaboration with co-locators within the surrounding communities and Western Desert. Outcomes include greater awareness of safer sexual behaviors and connection for individuals to supplementary primary health care services to address health issues.
Experience and Skills
1.Eligible for Registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
2. Evidence of significant recent post graduate nursing experience with demonstrated advanced nursing knowledge and skills.
3. Understanding of the principles of Primary Health care and the application to service delivery.
4. Demonstrated well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across a diverse spectrum of the population.
5. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the Aboriginal Cultural Respect framework.
6. Clinical experience in Public Health programs including STI management and contact tracing, RHD, Blood Borne viruses and Trachoma screening.
7. Evidence of a current C or C-A class driver’s licence and ability to travel within the region as required including overnight stays
