This District Medical Officer (DMO) – Obstetrician is responsible for providing an advanced level of elective and emergency Obstetric services. You will contribute to delivery of comprehensive patient care within the Emergency Department and the General Ward as well as certain health services located in remote communities. The successful applicant must practise without clinical supervision in this specialty area and demonstrate significant emergency department experience.

Position: District Medical Officer- Procedural - Obstetrics
Location: Western Australia
Role Highlights:
- Performs screening assessment, treatment and referral of patients/clients in accordance with WACHS policy procedure and protocols.
- Provides clinical services in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner.
- Utilize your diagnostic skills to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across diverse medical needs.
- Contribute to a holistic approach to healthcare, ensuring patients receive timely attention and appropriate treatment.

Qualifications:
- AHPRA registration.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, or equivalent experience at the date of commencing duties.
- Formal post graduate qualification in Obstetrics or equivalent extensive experience.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as an effective team member.
- A record of appropriate Emergency Department skill maintenance in the last triennium of completion of at least one of the following and evidence of continued professional development:
- a. ACLS (or equivalent)
- b. APLS (or equivalent)
- c. EMST (or equivalent)
- d. JCCA (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the Aboriginal Cultural Respect Framework.
