We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic technology team, with a focus on building a data environment that supports our business to deliver the best education experience in New Zealand and Australia. This role is pivotal in driving the architecture, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure in a Microsoft-based environment, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and fit for AI-driven initiatives. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure data is effectively managed, accessible, and optimized for advanced analytics and AI development. This position requires a combination of strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to contribute to the organisation's data and AI-driven objectives. 

💡 What You'll Do: 

• Architect and build robust, scalable data environments using Microsoft Azure 
• Lead the charge in creating data pipelines that power AI and advanced analytics 
• Oversee database performance, ensuring top-tier reporting and AI efficiency 
• Mentor a dynamic data team and collaborate with stakeholders 
• Drive continuous improvement in data processes and stay ahead of emerging trends 

🎯 What You Bring: 

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role 
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure and SQL Server 
• Proven skills in ETL/ELT, data warehousing 
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities 
• Microsoft certifications? Big plus!
