We are looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our dynamic team and drive data-informed decision-making processes.

Be challenged and imagine with us

As the Data and Insights Analyst you will perform crucial data analysis to inform both the day-to-day operations of the team, as well as broader strategic planning and reporting. Your work will play a vital role in enhancing international student applications, conversion, and retention processes for the University by:

  • Maintaining an effective reporting framework to deliver consistent high-quality analysis and dashboards.
  • Transforming modelling, and visualising data from core information systems, including SAS, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Benchmarking sector and internal performance to identify trends in international Higher Education.

You will enjoy a considerable amount of autonomy over data analysis and reporting, representing the Global team as the subject matter expert on international student data.

We will be impressed by your

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis..
  • Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

This continuing position is full time at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

The Global Engagement and Partnerships (GEP) Division engages collaboratively across the globe, building the University’s profile and reputation and creating diverse opportunity for students, staff, alumni and community. Through the Global Engagement and Partnerships Strategy, the division develops partnerships with like-minded institutions and industry to drive high quality research and world-class education, and deeply engages an integrated global community of alumni and friends.

Global Office works collaboratively to position the University as a lead study destination for students from across the globe. The Global Office lead international student recruitment efforts, international student and global mobility and facilitate sustainable institutional collaborations and partnerships which enhance the University’s international engagement across the spectrum.

  1. A degree in Data Science or related disciplines; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, training or specialist certifications. 
  2. Demonstrated experience accessing the core systems for information technology, and the ability to quickly develop expertise in SAS, SQL, and Power BI. 
  3. Ability to work collaboratively in Division and University wide initiatives, including the facilitation of formal presentations and executive reporting. 
  4. Highly developed organisational skills, and the ability to develop and implement plans and manage multiple complex tasks with competing deadlines.
