Join our School of Education as an Administrative Officer (Executive Assistant & Projects) for the Head of School / Dean of Education and become a key part of a supportive and innovative team.

The Role

As the Administrative Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the School Office by:

  • Providing executive support to the Head of School and School Executive Committee, manage the Head of School’s diary, travel, correspondence, and approvals.
  • Driving efficiency – implement systems and processes to streamline operations and relieve administrative pressure.
  • Managing projects and events – support School initiatives, reviews, accreditations, and key events.
  • Liaising with stakeholders – engage with academics, students, and external partners to support strategic goals.
  • Handling administrative operations – process finance and procurement requests, coordinate meetings, and maintain compliance.

This continuing position is part time at a HEW 5 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

  1. A degree; or completion of an associate diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of professional administration experience and education/training.
  2. Demonstrated performance in a high-level administrative role in a dynamic and fast-paced customer service environment that incorporates the support of Executive staff. 
  3. High level written, verbal and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders at different levels.
  4. Demonstrated high-level of computer literacy, including the use of software applications such as the MS Office suite and corporate databases, with ability and willingness to embrace new technologies such as TeachLive teaching simulation technology.
  5. Demonstrated experience, and ability to successfully manage competing demands and multiple projects, and effective problem-solving skills.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of workplace obligations to, and experience in leading and cultivating workplace practices and behaviours that promote, support and maintain a safe, healthy, equitable, diverse and respectful workplace, including responding appropriately to adverse accidents, incidents, behaviours, issues and reports.
