The Teachers and Teaching Research Centre (TTRC), led by Laureate Professor Jenny Gore, is a highly successful research centre at the University of Newcastle. The TTRC has a vision to enact positive social change through education by conducting rigorous, relevant and meaningful educational research.

The Role 

In this role you will:

  • Collaborate in development and implementation of research projects, including data collection, analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative) and interpretation.
  • Contribute to outputs in high quality refereed journals consistent with the discipline.

This one-year full time fixed term position (with a possibility for extension) will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

How will you become part of our community? 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A doctoral qualification (or submitted thesis) or equivalent accreditation and standing in Education or related social science discipline with a focus on Education.
  • A demonstrated record of publication in high-quality outlets.
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research, including data collection, analysis and interpretation.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively, with flexibility and resilience to manage competing demands and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity for self-directed and collaborative work.
  • Capacity for some inter-state and intra-state travel, as required for data collection, conferences and stakeholder meetings.
  • A valid NSW driver’s licence.
  • A current Working with Children Clearance.

The remuneration for this position is from $112,717 + 17% superannuation.
