We have a great opportunity for you in our dynamic marketing team, ensuring our prospective students are receiving the right information at the right time when they are contemplating university. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the planning and implementation of direct marketing campaigns for domestic and international student recruitment.
  • Developing customer journey maps and segmentation strategies to deliver personalised and targeted marketing communications.
  • Leveraging Marketing Automation to automate customer journeys and deliver relevant content at each touchpoint.
  • Ensuring that automated platforms and databases are maintained in line with internal risk management and data hygiene guidelines.
  • Monitoring campaign performance and contributing to optimisation decisions.
  • Utilising Marketing Automation platform reporting tools to measure the performance of campaigns and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Developing and maintain a regularly updated suite of reporting for stakeholders on the performance of campaigns to guide data-driven decisions relating to current and future campaigns.
  • Providing best practice advice to internal stakeholders to support campaign development, implementation, process refinement, technological solutions, and reporting.
  • Offering advice to internal stakeholders regarding marketing automation and technological integration, ensuring the security of campaign databases and managing the application and refinement of risk management processes.

This continuing position is full time at a HEW 6 Higher Education Level based at Callaghan.

About the Unit

Future Students, Communications and Engagement (FSCE) forms part of the Global Engagement and Partnerships Division at the University of Newcastle. Under the guidance of the University’s Looking Ahead Strategic Plan, FSCE leads domestic student recruitment and marketing strategies and international recruitment marketing, drives engagement and storytelling to build the University’s brand and manage its reputation, and helps nurture a sense of pride amongst the University’s community.

  1.  A relevant degree with subsequent experience in digital marketing, marketing automation or data analytics; or extensive experience and specialist expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
  2. Experience in the configuration and delivery of effective direct communication campaigns using marketing automation platforms such as Oracle Eloqua, Salesforce Pardot, Marketo Engage etc, tracking campaigns and reporting to stakeholders on campaign success.
  3. Experience in database management and maintenance, with a demonstrated understanding of data hygiene practices and data analysis.
  4. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
  5. Demonstrated high-level organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines, priorities and stakeholder demands.
