As a Research Liaison Librarian, you will engage with the university’s research community and empower them to excel in their work. You will foster a deep understanding of library research services and resources, implementing strategies to increase their usage. By providing relevant advice, programs, and information services to researchers and higher degree research students, you will play a pivotal role in enabling their success. Your expertise will directly contribute to advancing the university’s research endeavours. 

In this role you will:

  • Provide expert advice and support for literature search strategies, systematic reviews, bibliometric tools, and research data management, with a particular focus on medical and health sciences research.
  • Develop strong relationships with researchers, proactively reaching out to support their academic and publishing needs.
  • Assist researchers in navigating scholarly publishing, including advice on Open Access, copyright, strategic publishing, and research impact analysis.

This fixed term position is until November 2025, is full time, and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

 

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

  • Experience in an academic library or research support environment, with knowledge of academic library resources, research processes, and scholarly publishing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with researchers.
  • A background in medical or health sciences research support is beneficial.

The remuneration for this position is from $90,316 to $99,655 + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  4. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working.
