Location: Central Coast Clinical School Gosford

Salary: $166,260 and $183,163 per annum – in addition to the salary, the remuneration package will include a Clinical Loading and 17% superannuation.

Employment Terms: This is a full time continuing position with the University of Newcastle. The successful applicant may be offered secondary employment as a Clinical Academic with the CCLHD, in addition to their primary employment with the University, for which remuneration will be in accordance with the Clinical Academics Employed in the NSW Health Service Policy Directive.

 

About the Position

As the Associate Professor you will make a significant contribution to all activities of the School of Medicine and Public Health and within the discipline of paediatrics and child health.

In collaboration with the Central Coast Local Health District in this role you will:

  • have the opportunity to lead in paediatrics and child health at the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute (CCCSRI)
  • provide leadership in clinical service, research and teaching with dedicated clinical contribution in paediatrics and child health
  • provide clinical academic leadership within a growing and vibrant Clinical School and Research Institute
  • have links with academic educators and clinical colleagues at other Joint Medical Program (JMP) teaching campuses including the Hunter Clinical School, the University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health and the University of New England
  • undertake work that will impact clinical services need in a growing and diverse region
  • be supported by a dynamic clinical service focused on innovation
  • collaborate with colleagues across a medical school known for leading change in medical education and outstanding research performance
  • have an opportunity to build a program and shape future direction of paediatrics and child health

 

About You

Together with the requirements of the selection criteria, to be successful in the role you will:

  • have demonstrated involvement in leadership in medical education;
  • have a passion for teaching and assessment of students;
  • be dedicated to mentoring and academic support;
  • have a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health) or equivalent and current registration, or potential for registration as a Specialist Paediatrician with AHPRA;
  • have a demonstrated research track record including a PHD in a relevant medical field.
