We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Technical Officer to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery. In this role, you will be integral to the successful operation of the Clinical Skills Laboratory and Simulation Learning Environment (SLE). You will provide high-level technical support and monitoring and tracking laboratory resources to enable the seamless delivery of practical learning sessions for our students. Additionally, you will offer essential administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of our facilities.

Your responsibilities will involve:

  • Supporting the planning, setup, and maintenance of the Simulation Learning Environment.
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment and consumables, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
  • Collaborating with staff to meet laboratory requirements and maintain effective resource management.
  • Ensuring adherence to Work Health and Safety policies.
  • Providing administrative support, maintaining accurate and accessible records.

This continuing position is full time or part time (job share will be considered) at a HEW 4 Higher Education Level and will primarily be located at Callaghan Campus with and expectation to work at Central Coast Clinical School as required.

About the Unit  

The Technical Officer Team are a strong collaborative group bringing together knowledge from multiple disciplines and working backgrounds to support the teaching and learning of Nursing and Midwifery educators and students

The University is undergoing refurbishment of the Health Education Research Building at Callaghan campus. This is an exciting time to join the School as it prepares to move into new enhanced facilities in 2025. Nursing and Midwifery students and staff will have access to cutting-edge simulation labs and modern teaching spaces with the latest technology.

  5. Demonstrated ability to apply a broad knowledge and experience to solve practical problems including ability to work with minimal supervision
  6. Demonstrated computing skills with experience in word processing, database applications, and spreadsheets and email applications.
  7. Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
  8. Current driver’s license
