Base Salary: $112,717 - $133,853 + 17% superannuation and leave loading

Position: Full-Time or Part-Time (from 0.4 FTE) continuing position

Location: Newcastle (Callaghan) or Central Coast (Gosford) Campuses

About the role

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Lecturers with expertise in Mental Health Nursing to join the award winning academics in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. You will be responsible for the delivery of online teaching into the post graduate Master of Mental Health Nursing program and / or face-to-face teaching in the Bachelor of Nursing program, contributing to the quality improvement cycle of the curricula, embedding contemporary practice and teaching approaches while participating in research and administrative duties appropriate to the appointment level. You will also contribute to growing the professional profile of the nursing discipline at the University at a local, national and international level.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold a doctoral qualification (or close to completion) or equivalent accreditation and standing or professional equivalent.
  • Hold a qualification in mental health nursing, a postgraduate qualification will be highly regarded.
  • Hold current registration, as a Nurse, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations or condition.
  • Display knowledge of and skills in the pedagogy of teaching and learning across a program and / or course.
  • Demonstrate recent ability to achieve teaching quality as indicated by internal and external surveys and outcomes for students that will improve or innovate curriculum in response to feedback.
  • Be developing a record of publication or non-traditional research output in high-quality outlets and establishing research collaborations.
  • Have the ability and desire to be involved in active supervision of honours, masters and/or higher degree by research projects.
