As Research Assistant, you will assist the Multiple Sclerosis research team with a range of projects that aim to find novel biomarkers for Multiple Sclerosis and related disorders.

In this role you will:

  • Provide laboratory-based support to researchers and students including blood processing, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA extractions, PCR and other studies as required.
  • Conduct experiments, immunological, and biochemical analyses.
  • Set up and safety operate and maintain laboratory equipment/instruments.

This 1-year fixed term position is part time at 0.6FTE, and will be located at the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

  • Experience with human blood sample processing and extraction of DNA/RNA/Proteins.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.

What we offer

The remuneration for this position is from $77,858 to $90,316 pro-rated + 17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
