Our client seeks to engage a vendor to provide one Senior SharePoint Developer with experience developing intranets. The Pension Corporation is currently developing the first, MVP iteration of our new intranet using the SharePoint Online platform. We are seeking an experienced Senior SharePoint Intranet Developer to supplement our existing team for MVP and subsequent releases.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SharePoint development and a proven track record in designing, developing, and maintaining SharePoint intranet solutions. The resource will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate requirements, propose and develop solutions, customize SharePoint sites as required, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead, mentor and transfer skills and abilities to other developers.


Responsibilities of the Senior SharePoint Intranet Developer include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and implement SharePoint intranet solutions according to business requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze project requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Customize SharePoint sites, including creating custom web parts, workflows, forms, and templates (only as needed, preference is to limit customization and propose creative solutions with out-of-the-box functionality).
  • Develop and Document SharePoint site architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and performance, ensuring ease of maintenance and support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related issues, ensuring high availability and user satisfaction.
  • Integrate SharePoint with other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, support, and knowledge transfer to internal developers who are new to the SharePoint platform.
  • Conduct regular testing, quality assurance, and documentation of SharePoint solutions.
  • Collaborate with product owner and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.


What You Need:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a SharePoint Developer, specifically in intranet with a knowledge of the SharePoint Online and framework (SPFx).
  • Proven experience training and passing knowledge to new SharePoint front-end and/or intranet developers.
  • Experience in SharePoint site branding, site navigation, responsive design, and user experience optimization
  • Proficiency in SharePoint customization using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and other web technologies.
  • Experience with SharePoint search configuration, workflow development, the Term Store, and content management.
  • Experiences with:
  • Production Planning
  • Power Platform development and integration with SharePoint.
  • SharePoint related PowerShell scripting.
  • SharePoint search configuration, workflow development, the Term Store, and content management.
  • Training others in SharePoint Development Framework
  • Relevant and current technical training
  • Up-to-date with the latest SharePoint and web development trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint security models, permissions, and authentication mechanisms
  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and propose pragmatic and innovative SharePoint solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor developers.
  • Microsoft certifications in SharePoint development (e.g., MCSD) is a plus.
