Our client is looking for an experienced Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) designer engineer with solid knowledge and experience in marine HVAC design and rules to join the company. The successful candidate will fill the role of HVAC Design Engineer, reporting to the HVAC Technical lead, as part of a dynamic team working on every step of the design from concept, through fabrication, to installation and commissioning.
The following outlines the job description in more detail:
• Expert in HVAC concept, basic, and detail design.
• Project progress tracking and reporting
• Write HVAC systems specifications
• Oversee and review heat load calculations, ventilation volume calculations, noise calculations, and pressure drop calculations.
• Production of HVAC D&IDs, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams
• Production of HVAC Commissioning TEST Memos
• Review and advise on chiller and heating plant calculations
• Coordinate and integrate HVAC systems in deck areas and ACR using different 3D software (Cadmatic)
• Read, comprehend, and interpret customer specifications and requirements
• Support and oversee Construction, Commissioning, and Operational Optimization activities
• Support the interfacing and coordination of program delivery and customer expectations
• Consults and communicates with clients with respect to equipment selection
• Specific application of Marine industry regulations (LR, SOLAS, etc.)
BASIC QUALIFICATION:
• Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field. University degree preferred (BSc and/or MSc).
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar Marine Industry position (Cruise or Naval/Coast Guard).
• 3+ Years will be considered with a relevant advanced post-graduate degree.
• Must be registered as a professional engineer with EGBC
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and multiple tasks with critical concurrent deadlines
• Self-motivated and able to identify and take action on potential issues and problems
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-national team
• High level of accountability, integrity, and ethics in the workplace
• Competency with load calculation software such as Carrier HAP and AUTOCAD
• Willingness to travel internationally to support clients or suppliers in the field
