Your opportunity:

TPG Telecom is seeking a dynamic Consumer PR Specialist to work with some of Australia’s biggest brands in the consumer telco space, including Vodafone, iiNet, TPG and Felix.

This is a unique opportunity to use your PR and storytelling skills to cut through the clutter of boring telco stories and make a meaningful impact as we build these brands and challenge the status quo.

This position suits a creative individual who will be challenged to launch major activations, develop compelling consumer campaigns, and work closely with our PR agency to drive positive media coverage through creative storytelling and cultural insights.

You'll make impact by:

  • Developing and executing strategic and creative consumer PR campaigns to build the brands and enhance the reputation of Vodafone, iiNet, TPG and felix.
  • Building strong relationships with key media and coordinate proactive media initiatives in partnership with our PR agency.
  • Collaborating closely with the consumer, brand, and marketing teams to ensure alignment with TPG Telecom’s strategic and commercial goals.
  • Managing the Vodafone press office to create an ongoing drumbeat of storytelling.
  • Assisting in planning and executing large-scale consumer campaigns that generate mass awareness and excitement with key audiences
  • Handling media inquiries from initiation to conclusion, escalating complex issues to senior team members as needed.
  • Writing and distributing press materials including media releases, key messages and Q&A documents.
  • Supporting the External Affairs team in crisis management and issue response efforts.
  • Overseeing TPG Telecom’s external corporate communication channels, such as LinkedIn.
  • Contributing to corporate media activities and corporate reporting to ensure cohesive and comprehensive communication strategies.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in agency or in-house consumer communications
  • Strong consumer media relationships and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
  • Knows how to form and maintain long-term, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and influencers.
  • A creative thinker who can keep up with the demands of a 24/7 media cycle.
  • Highly motivated and capable of operating independently.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Previous tech/telco experience an advantage.
  • Project management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
