TPG Telecom has recently announced the sale of its fibre network infrastructure assets and enterprise, government and wholesale fixed business. Over the coming months we will undertake detailed separation and transition planning to prepare for this exciting transaction and ensure our teams and customers are supported through this process.

For this we will require a Release Manager to help manage a large portfolio of changes within the network over a very condensed period of time as the transition progresses.

You'll make impact by: 

  • You will be responsible for consulting with many workstreams of a large network program and coordinating the large number of changes to be implemented within the next 12 months
  • You will host and manage a change forum, consulting with project managers and engineering staff to co-ordinate smooth pathways for change implementation.
  • Be involved in project planning; problem solving and project management decisions
  • You will liaise and negotiate with the Operations teams to ensure changes for the program can be implemented as and when required, whilst optimising the operational acceptance processes but maintaining quality to minimise outages.
  • You will be responsible for identifying and leading improvement opportunities within the team, as well as ensuring appropriate controls are in place to manage risks, including the protection of TPG systems and information.
  • You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and managing the overall release management criteria and plan
  • You will be the primary release coordinator for the Network program and report to the program forum weekly.
  • Ensure regular review of project statuses to enable planning of a continually evolving delivery roadmap making sure that inter-project dependencies are well understood by all participants
  • Communicate across the team and with the business release management schedule
  • Adhere to TPG policies and procedures as introduced and varied from time to time
  • You will be responsible for day-to-day activities for managing the Release Planning in coordination with non-production teams

  • Ensure must you and your team are familiar with policies and procedures, as well as completing any associated training, as communicated or made available on the intranet and our learning systems. 

What you’ll bring:

  • Expertise in DevOps & CI/CD
  • Knowledge of DevOps Tools
  • Understanding of network environments, in particular IP and Switching Networks and OSS platforms, IT systems.
  • Understand passive transport networks.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6- 7 years of DevOps & Release Management experience
  • Project management certifications are added advantage
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams to ensure tasks are completed in time with the release schedule
  • Leadership and analytical skills
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Problem-solving & team collaborative efforts
