TPG Telecom has recently announced the sale of its fibre network infrastructure assets and enterprise, government and wholesale fixed business. Over the coming months we will undertake detailed separation and transition planning to prepare for this exciting transaction and ensure our teams and customers are supported through this process.
For this we will require Senior Corporate Counsels to provide expert legal guidance and support.
You'll make impact by:
- Delivering timely, creative and commercially astute strategic legal advice and support, that is cost-effective and aligned to TPG's operational and strategic plans.
- Acting autonomously as a trusted adviser to key stakeholders within TPG, anticipating business, legal and regulatory issues, and seeking to effect pragmatic customer focussed solutions to facilitate the proposed transaction.
- Leading the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex contracts, ensuring clear and effective terms that protect TPG’s interests.
- Engaging with vendors and customers to manage contract changes, updates, novations and notices, including responding to their queries and facilitating amendments.
- Ensuring contract terms are aligned with the business objectives and regulatory requirements of both TPG Telecom and Vocus.
- Work closely with internal business units to understand the specifics of contracts and provide legal advice on key terms and obligations.
- Assisting in legal aspects of the separation and transition process related to the proposed transaction.
- Mentoring and acting as a role model to junior lawyers and/or secondees within the legal team to drive engagement and develop excellence.
What you’ll bring:
- Legally qualified (hold a current practicing certificate or equivalent).
- Minimum of 7 years PQE (or equivalent).
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills and ability to lead negotiations on complex legal transactions and issues.
- Strong contract drafting and advisory skills.
- Ability to strategically apply legal and regulatory knowledge to protect and enhance commercial interests of TPG.
- Sound judgment and excellent decision-making skills
Ideally, you will also have:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development and network management.
