Your opportunity:

The role is a Software Engineer (APIs & Core Integration Services) with responsibility for the development of applications and frameworks in the discipline of APIs and Core Integration Services.

The purpose of this role is to design, develop and manage reusable cloud-based APIs and integration services for TPG using Agile development methodology, through hands-on software development and technical leadership. This role will be instrumental in building automated development frameworks and tooling to enable successful and efficient software delivery for TPG.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop and Manage
  • Design and Develop enterprise grade reusable APIs, micro services and API Platforms.
  • Utilise cloud technologies to optimise performance and cost for TPG.
  • Establish automation and development frameworks to improve efficiency and bake in repeatability.
  • Maintain and run team owned services and applications in a DevOps mode.
  • Collaborate with the Technology Lead and Project teams to continually improve standards and practices to drive value and resilience.
  • Team and Agile delivery
  • Engage with the Technology Lead/Product Owner/Project Teams to deliver effective outcomes for TPG.
  • Participate in Agile rituals and evangelise Agile development practices to maximise the capabilities of the team and its ability to incrementally deliver value.
  • Day to day mentoring and collaboration with Software Engineers to ensure the successful outcomes.
  • Security and Compliance
  • Ensure the solutions delivered and to be delivered are safe and secure.
  • Embed security first practices into the team’s development practices.

What you’ll bring:

  • 4-5 years of experience in software development, testing and architecture preferably in integration background.
  • Extensive experience in Java, Spring, Spring Boot and other open-source frameworks.
  • 2-3 years’ Agile experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Strong exposure to API First Development approach.
  • Experience consuming and developing REST APIs.
  • Good understanding of SOAP services.
  • Experience with API gateways like Apigee, Mulesoft or AWS API Gateway.
  • Hands on experience on AWS Cloud platform.
  • Agile development practices such as TDD / BDD, CI/CD, test automation, pair programming, etc.
  • Application lifecycle management tools such as Atlassian product suite.
  • Software testing methodology and techniques, and automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with tuning and optimising software performance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with log aggregation and monitoring tools such as Splunk.
