TPG Telecom has recently announced the sale of its fibre network infrastructure assets and enterprise, government and wholesale fixed business. Over the coming months we will undertake detailed separation and transition planning to prepare for this exciting transaction and ensure our teams and customers are supported through this process.

For this we will require 2x Project Managers to be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned project(s) based on business demand.

This role will be responsible for the management and delivery of a pre-defined package of work and will cover all areas of the business required to achieve those results. This position will report to a Program Manager, Senior Project Manager or Business Owner and will use the Program/Project Management disciplines and processes defined by the TPG Telecom.

The Project Manager will be measured for performance in delivery of the Projects/tasks assigned to them. Measures will be applied to the actual Timeliness, Cost and Quality of the Outputs; and compliance with PMO Project Management processes. Metrics will be employed when the PM is in post and has been assigned a Project.

You'll make impact by: 

  • Utilise the key stakeholder list for the project and communicate with them appropriately to deliver the project.
  • Establish the project structure to engage all required stakeholders for all phases. Maintain engagement of the stakeholders through the Project lifecycle including Vendors, suppliers and other PM’s.
  • Create clear and attainable project objectives, in conjunction with your project sponsor.
  • Manage the key constraints for the project including all aspects of cost, time, quality and scope
  • Working with the PMO, establish the framework to manage project scope, schedule, quality and cost. This must comply with the TPG Telecom project management policies and processes.
  • Ensure operational processes are in place for successful transition of the project to operations.
  • Apply the risk management processes to the project to manage the risk profile. Develop and maintain contingency plans where required.
  • Manage all supplier interfaces associated with the project
  • Develop a resource profile to ensure the right people, facilities and tools are available when required to deliver the project.
  • Develop a project schedule that covers all areas of the business required to achieve the project results, including dependencies on which the project relies to deliver successfully. Management of project inter-dependencies is a key responsibility of this role.
  • Working with the financial teams, ensure costs are controlled. Ensure this system is adhered to by all people working on the project.
  • Provide reports showing the status of the project against agreed plans, with assessment of risks to future deliverables, in accordance with TPG Telecom processes and timescales.
  • Establish and maintain a successful delivery culture within the project.

What you’ll bring:

  • Desirable to have some project experience as a Project Manager delivering IT projects.
  • Good understanding of project management delivery methodologies, particularly PMBoK would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working within a Project or Program team is desirable.
  • Experience in telecommunications industry would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders within a team and manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Good collaborative working style that drives a customer focus and great employee engagement.
  • Excellent capability to manage own and teams’ deliverables.
