We are Toby's Estate, and we're on the hunt for an experienced Cook to join our team!

About us:

The story of Toby's Estate began in 1997, in the grungy streets of Woolloomooloo, armed with Mum’s garage, a beat-up coffee roaster and passion on tap, we set out on a wild adventure of business and coffee discovery. Not concerned with the frills of it all, but just that we were consistently consistent in roasting the tastiest coffee we could and treating all the people in our world like family.

Fast forward 26 years we’re a crack team and merry band of misfits united by a common passion for doing amazing things, and at the forefront of pushing the limits of premium specialty coffee.

• You’ll join our tight knit team at Toby's Newstead, meaning there is plenty of opportunity for you to learn all aspects of café knowhow.
• Working with our Head Chef you’ll be able to soak up tips and tricks from the pro in the kitchen.
• Collaborating with our Head Chef to craft enticing seasonal dishes, as well as preparing a variety of cabinet food and menu items to impeccable standards,
• Conducting daily food preparation and upholding kitchen cleanliness

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a genuine foodie in the café scene - a café cook who will help collaborate and support the smooth running of the kitchen. This includes, but is not limited to, acting as the Head Chef's right-hand ally by prepping, cooking, and managing inventory while the chef is away, as well as ensuring high food safety standards. Collaboration is the name of the game! You'll help to maintain a pristine and organised kitchen space, while using your hospitality expertise to contribute to the culinary identity of Toby's Estate. You'll be a team player who excels in fast-paced kitchen environments, demonstrates creativity, and has a genuine passion for crafting high-quality dishes. Please note this is a casual role.
