About the Role
The Youth Voice Program Coordinator forms a vital part of our Youth Voice team. Having experience in working with young people along with an understanding of advocacy and the importance of youth voice, they are responsible for curating youth voice content, as well as the delivery of Youth Voice training and events. The Youth Voice Program Coordinator will develop and deliver training and events held throughout the year internally and in partnership with key organisations with the main goal of empowering, inspiring and equipping young people with skills to become better leaders in their communities.
The Youth Voice Program Coordinator will play a key role in:
- Program Delivery & Development – develop events and training programs that meet the needs of young people and their schools/communities
- People Leadership - inspire and motivate the team by promoting a culture of continuous learning and development
- Occupational Health and Safety - ensure a commitment to an ongoing safety culture
This role will be based out of Y Victoria State Office (Box Hill) and will also encompass Working From Home for two days per week, with the potential to work across multiple YMCA centres/ locations on various occasions.
This role is a permanent part time role, with a rate of $38.60 per hour plus superannuation, working a total of four days per week. Further details surrounding availability will be discussed with suitable applicants.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following attributes:
- Previous experience in both developing and delivering youth leadership/ development programs
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Experiencing in working with young people and schools (desirable)
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds
- A commitment to empowering young people
Qualifications & Experience
- First Aid Level 2
- CPR
- Youth, Community, Education or Management, or some demonstrated experience equivalent to a relevant qualification is not mandatory, but highly desirable
