About the Centre
Riverslide Skate Park is a unique youth facility; as the only free access fulltime managed skate facility in Australia. Located just outside the Melbourne CBD, in the Alexandra Gardens Riverslide is an important and dynamic youth focused facility. With over 100,000 visit per year the facility offers a range of programmed activities and events, including Learn 2 Ride lessons, birthday parties, night sessions, competitions and demonstrations.
About the Role
As a Program Officer, you will deliver YMCA Action Sports programs and services and selected skate parks and school throughout Australia.
Working closely with the YMCA Action Sports operations team, you will be responsible for:
- Deliver skate park-based programs and in-school programming
- Creating a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of gender, age, skill level or socio-economic background
- Accurately documenting participants and reporting incidents where necessary
- Upholding the values of the YMCA at all times
This is a casual role with an hourly pay rate of $30.45 per hour.
About You
You will have a passion for all things skate, scoot and BMX, be outgoing and well spoken. With knowledge and experience in skate park culture, you will thrive working in a busy atmosphere, helping youth foster a sense of community in a fun environment in a public-facing and very hands-on role.

Mandatory Qualifications
These must be obtained and maintained as a requirement of continued employment:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Desirable Skills
- Scoot, skate and/or BMX experience
- Knowledge of, and experience with skate park culture
- Youth work experience
