Telstra Health is proud to work collaboratively with the Australian Government and specialist partners for the delivery of 1800RESPECT since 1 July 2022, as the national front door for people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and workplace sexual harassment (WSH).

About the role

We have openings for Team Leaders who will provide leadership and operational support to our counselling staff to deliver quality services. As a Team Leader, you will help achieve sustained reduction in the prevalence and impacts of domestic, family and sexual violence and workplace sexual harassment.

Team Leaders will need to be available across a 24/7 roster, which will include evening and overnight shifts. You must be available for full time work.

Shifts will be negotiated across a 24/7 roster, based on the service requirements which is based around demand for support, your preferences, and the preferences of other team members. You will receive shift penalties based on the shifts occurring across the evening, overnight, weekend and public holidays.

About you: 

You must be able to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience in managing a team in a fast-paced real time virtual environment (ideally contact centre/s +/- health services)
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, supervision and coaching of team member to enhance both practice skills and professional knowledge
  • Ability to rapidly develop a thorough knowledge of 1800RESPECT’s delivery model, including counselling model, policies and procedures
  • Extensive experience in managing performance of individuals and working with them in all areas of service improvement
  • Proven experience in managing resources including team rosters to ensure service levels are maintained
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including working from home and the 1800RESPECT office location when required
  • A private room/space, free from distraction which can be used for your home office set up
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts and outside of normal business hours on occasions to meet operational requirements.
  • Strong computer skills (experience with using systems, MS Word, excel, outlook and internet)
