What’s the opportunity? 

The Business Development Manager drives Telstra Health’s vision by identifying, qualifying, and engaging potential lead sales opportunities for Telstra Health products, solutions, platforms, and services.  

This role is essential in differentiating Telstra Health from competitors, thereby increasing win rates, and supporting our strategic objectives of enhancing digital health connectivity and experiences.   

The role is focused on achieving the growth targets across the broader EMEA region, which includes the GCC, UK, Ireland and other growth areas. Therefore, travel is likely to be necessary between geographies within the region, as required by customer and market activity.   

About the role: 

As a Business Development Manager, you will drive growth by identifying and engaging sales opportunities for our products and services. This role utilises your expertise in sales and industry knowledge to execute key accountabilities including: 

Meeting sales targets 

Achieving sales targets by leveraging how our technology can deliver our customer’s services and new models of care in a safer, more efficient, and financially sustainable manner, including:  

  • Maximising sales opportunities through an in-depth understanding of how our solutions improve health services and care efficiency, 
  • Build the EMEA sales pipeline via proactive lead generation. 
  • Maintain CRM Accuracy: Ensure all customer interactions, leads, and sales activities are accurately recorded and updated in the CRM system. 
  • Sales Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on sales pipeline, activities, and progress to support forecasting and decision-making. 
  • Forecast Management: Collaborate with sales leadership to maintain accurate sales forecasts based on CRM data and market insights. 

Industry awareness 

Staying informed about key industry developments and access their potential impact on our customers and solutions including: 

  • Monitoring industry trends and evaluating their implications for our offerings and customer needs. 

Customer engagement 

  • Actively identify customer problem and opportunity identification, qualification and engagement for our products to deliver against annual Sales Targets.      
  • Provide leadership in key strategic customer negotiations.   
  • Mitigate risk in potential customer relationships.  
  • Accountable for contract compliance, including back-to-back with partner products.  
  • Responsible to ensure that tenders and documents pertaining to customers are customer-centric and meets customer requirements.  
  • High quality management of qualification documentation, pipeline through CRM and sales documentation.   
  • Advocate customer problems back into the business unit to assist with a scalable market opportunity and support relevant development of sales business case.  
  • Liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Product Management, Client Services and Solutions Development) to lead the pursuit, bid and contract negation processes.  
  • Upon successful sales opportunity, ensures a warm handover to customer solutions implementation team. 

About you: 

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the Healthcare or Health Software industry preferably with sales experience. 
  • Experience liaising with C-Level executives and senior management in the healthcare industry.  
  • A strong customer focus with the ability to build strong relationships.  
  • Demonstrated achievement of revenue and sales targets.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  
  • Excellent written skills and the ability to generate professional reports and proposals.  
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.  
  • The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding and network within the UK acute trust health market and a working knowledge of the associated procurement landscape. 

Desirable: 

  • Bachelor degree in Healthcare, Technology or relevant field.  
  • Certification in Sales Training.
