What’s the opportunity?

This role is responsible for operationalising PowerHealth’s international RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) services. The role will lead the development and delivery of world-class Billing, Administration, Clinical Coding and Clinical Documentation Improvement processes and systems for our clients and support the development of a trusted brand for provision of RCM services, as the business grows internationally and in Australia.

Key accountabilities of this role are:

  •   Support the successful implementation and ongoing management of Clinical Documentation and insurance related workstreams of all RCM Services projects domestically and internationally.
  •  Create, educate on and implement work processes that support excellence in Clinical Documentation Improvement and all insurance related processes including Medical Necessity.
  •  Business analysis including documenting current & future state business processes, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, Use Cases, requirements traceability, business rules, test planning and test cases.
  • To ensure the ongoing quality of services, assist in developing systems of quality control and reporting that provide continuous feedback on the performance of client and PowerHealth/Telstra Health staff; operational processes and system performance.
  •  Assessment and tailor education for Clinical Coders, Clinical Documentation Specialists, client staff as appropriate to RCM.
  • Day to day management of RCM Clinical Coding and Clinical Documentation Specialist staff.
  • To provide leadership that will create a highly effective and enjoyable work culture for all staff, and one which recognises any cultural sensitivities in an international team.
  •  Create channels for communication between clinical staff, the Clinical Coding and Clinical Documentation Specialist and insurance related teams whilst demonstrating improvement from audit results.
  • Develop positive key client relationships and act as representative of the RCM Leadership team in the absence of more senior personnel.

What can I expect?

  • The primary outcomes of this role are to operationalise RCM new business:
  • Develop systems of quality control and reporting, including relevant KPIs and performance metrics
  • Assist with building a high performing Clinical Documentation Improvement and Insurance related teams
  • On-time and on-budget project delivery
  • Continual improvement – identification of opportunities for process and performance improvement
  • This role requires significant autonomy to function well and the incumbent will frequently be leading the management of client facing services

This role will be required to work overseas in our primary international locations in EMEA and be based in Bahrain. The international projects may require the role to be based in these jurisdictions from time to time or for extended periods of time (up to two years).

About you:

  • Bachelor's/Masters Degree in Health Information Management or healthcare related discipline OR Industry relevant certification e.g. Diploma/Bachelor of Nursing, HIMAA recognised Clinical Coding certification and/or Clinical Documentation Specialist certification
  • Training Delivery certification (Desirable)
  • Extensive experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement and insurance processes related to the above to functions.
  • Extensive use of Patient Administration Systems including the ability to learn and operate new systems quickly.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in a matrix operating environment. This includes the ability to deescalate situations where applicable.
  • Previous experience in change management, end user training and go live support.
  • Proven and demonstrable management and delivery of multiple projects under tight timeframes and often changing priorities
  • Extensive communication skills both written and verbal are required in this role with a focus on identifying gaps, analyzing data to find the source of the gap, observing processes, communicating with the related staff to close the gaps identified.
  • Experience in working with Clinical Coding teams.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
